2026 NNA Volunteer Appreciation Round

National Volunteer Week 2026 will be celebrated from 18–24 May 2026, and as part of the lead-up, we are proud to recognise the incredible individuals who make netball possible across our association during our 2026 NNA Volunteer Appreciation Round, taking place this weekend, Friday 15 & Saturday 16 May.

This special round is dedicated to celebrating the many volunteers who give their time, energy, and passion to support our game. From coaches and team managers to umpires, committee members, canteen staff, and all the unsung heroes behind the scenes—this is our opportunity to say thank you.

We are inviting NNA clubs and members to nominate volunteers who deserve recognition, not only for this dedicated round, but also for ongoing acknowledgement throughout the season. This forms part of our broader commitment to consistently celebrate the people who support our game week in and week out.

Clubs are also encouraged to acknowledge their volunteers in any way they wish across this special round, helping to create a shared moment of appreciation across the netball community.

As a small token of thanks for their ongoing contribution, commitment, and impact, all nominated volunteers will go into the draw to win fantastic prizes across the 2026 NNA Volunteer Appreciation Round and the 2026 season.

Nominations should be submitted by Thursday 14 May to admin@newcastlenetball.com.au and include:

• Volunteer name

• Club & role

• A brief description of their contribution (2–5 sentences is sufficient)

The 2026 theme, “Your Year to Volunteer”, celebrates the volunteers who already give so much while also encouraging new people to discover the connection, purpose, and community that volunteering in netball can bring.
